Hello Collingwood United Players and Members,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Keith Currie and I have recently been elected as the President of the Collingwood United Soccer Club.
As a ‘local’; that being born and raised right here in Collingwood, I have watched the incredible growth in the popularity of soccer in our Town. As a father I have watched all 4 of my children grow and learn though their involvement with the Youth programming. As a Rep Coach I have had the privilege of watching some very talented girls play the sport they loved, two of whom are currently playing at the University level. As a player I have enjoyed playing in the Adult Programs run by our league. Soccer has played an important role in mine and my families lives for the past 15 or so years.
It is my hope that my many ‘roles’ in the soccer community, over the years, will help me in my new position as President. I believe that the Collingwood United Soccer Club is an amazing organization that has much to offer both the youth and adults of Collingwood. There have been growing pains and these are to be expected. It is how we respond to these challenges that will define OUR Club. I believe that I along with the two Vice-Presidents (Scott Clair and Jerome Wihby) and a very strong, diverse and hard working Board of Directors can improve where there are areas of concern while enhancing and improving our areas of strength. To that end we are making some changes in our Youth Rep programming in the hopes of adding more W’s to the win column, we have added the position of Player Development to our Board and we have put in place a liaison (Sean Lawes) to help address any concerns in communication and programming with our Adult Leagues.
I look forward to working for you and your children. If you have any questions I would be glad to hear from you. I can be reached at kcurrie@drlogick.com
Respectfully yours,
Keith
